Lithium Ascorbate In Patients With Ischemia Protects Brain Health

This trial investigated the effects of lithium ascorbate on cognitive and neurological function in middle-aged patients with cerebral artery narrowing.

How Was The Experiment Done?

This study included 70 patients aged 40–60 with a diagnosed narrowing of brain arteries, a condition that can lead to cognitive decline. The participants were assigned to two groups: one received standard therapy plus Normotim and another received standard therapy only.

The study lasted eight weeks. Researchers assessed memory, mood, and attention. They also measured blood levels of brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF, a protein related to brain regeneration), lithium and metal levels in hair, and conducted brain scans and vascular imaging.

Key Findings

Normotim users showed improvements compared to the control group:

  • Better memory, concentration, and visual-spatial skills.

  • Better mood and higher levels of energy.

  • Higher BDNF levels.

  • Significant reductions in toxic elements, including mercury and arsenic.

  • Lithium level increased.

There was also a reduction in the number of patients with early signs of vascular brain damage.

What Does It Mean For You?

The study suggests that taking lithium ascorbate could support your brain health. It may support memory, lift mood, and help reduce the buildup of toxic metals.
